What Music Means to Me
WWW:
Good detail into why you listened to these songs and their influence.
EBI:
You should be clearer about the changes over time. Why has your style changed? Also, consider their videos specifically and their differences.
In order to make my work better I am going to add underneath the presentation a paragraph explaining how my style has changed and why. I am also going to make another presentation about each artist's videos that I have mentioned within the existing presentation. I hope that this will explain what music means to me clearer to the reader.
Music Through the Years
WWW:
You have given clear reasons as to what the style of the videos are and how they compare to each other at the time. You have developed some analysis into the videos' content.
EBI:
You could consider the 70s and 90s (key areas!) and given an overview as to why there have been these changes and what the most obvious ones are.
I am going to add two more slides to the power point that focus specifically on the 70's and the 90's. I am going to do this as it will show that I have focused upon key areas and it will extend my knowledge. I can then apply this knowledge to the construction of my own music video.
Laura Mulvey and the Male Gaze Theory
WWW:
excellent detail and analysis of key features of the videos, linking to the theory directly. You make direct comparisons across texts.
EBI:
It might be useful to use still images at points, to highlight your key examples of analysis.
Effort: E
To explain my analysis in a clearer manner I am going to add pictures. I feel that this will be useful when I read back on my work as well as when others read it.
Star Profile
WWW:
You have identified key changes in her style.
EBI:
You must put everything in your own words - you cannot copy text. I'd like to see a deeper exploration of the issues surrounding the changing of her image over time and what you learn from this about a stars' branding.
I realise that by not putting the factual information into my own words I am not putting my developing knowledge into practice meaning that I am more likely to forget the information and therefore not use it correctly. I need to evaluate my work to show what I have learnt in order to show my journey. I will spend a great amount of time editing this task in order to ensure that I complete it correctly as it will help with my own video planning.
Analysing Olly Murs's 'Troublemaker' Using Laura Mulvey's Theory
WWW:
Detailed and developed analysis, looking at specific aspects of the video in order to argue against the theory. You use appropriate terminology and make some comparisons along the way.
EBI:
It would be nice if you could make direct comparisons to another video, to see what the differences are (ie. to a female artist).
Effort: P
I am going to improve my work by selecting a female artist in order to make comparisons. I know that by doing this I will be putting my understanding into practice and I will be able to understand the theory more and how to apply it to existing music videos.
Preliminary Task
Ensure reflection of the Britney task is also underneath video!
I have made a presentation to show my evaluation of the task.
Lip Syncing Practice
WWW:
You have successfully lip synched against the music.
EBI:
EBI:
You need to ensure you put more emphasis into your performance and reflect on this underneath your video (can also be shown in production diary).
I have reflected on my video underneath to show what I have learnt and what I was trying to achieve. It works as a small evaluation. I have also added my group members videos seeing as they could potentially be staring in our groups final video.
