Feedback From Our Practice Filming

We made this video so that we could document the feedback that we had received from our target audience. This video is similar to that of another video that we made in a previous task, the treatment. The difference is that the video within the treatment task is of a focus group. Using a focus group has both advantages and disadvantages. An advantage would be that it is less time consuming as you can film several different people at once and also can receive several comments of feedback at one time. A disadvantage would be that some people may feel peer pressured to agree with everyone else and therefore the answers received might not be valid in terms of receiving justifiable feedback for a video. This is why with this assessment task we decided to film individuals on their own as their answers could not have been influenced by the thoughts of others: providing us with a strong variety.

This video will allow us to remind ourselves of the suggested improvements from our target audience further on in the task when we are filming for our final video. We need to make sure that we are continuously referring back to our target audience and their opinions to ensure that our product is relate-able to them.

We filmed teenagers ranging between the ages of 16 to 19: this would be our primary target audience, with our secondary audience being those of 19-22 years of age. The feedback in the video above was very detailed and has helped us to come up with future improvements that we will make when we film our final video. Each person gave us both a good comment and a bad comment which has made us feel confident that we can make a good final product.

  1. WWW: it's really good that you have gone out to find other people's opinion of your work as sometimes when looking at your own work you find yourself to be quite harsh (not just you but everyone) and seeing it from a male's pint of view will help you because you have a group of three girls.

EBI: you could maybe do some more research into your target audience. Other artists who target people similar to you.
