Hair and Makeup

To the left is a collage of images that inspired our makeup look for our artist. Our genre, electro-pop,  is very edgy and this is why we went for strong makeup that stands out. The lyrics within the song are very deep and meaningful and therefore the dark black makeup conveys these dark themes very well to the audience. The use of makeup makes our artist appear more professional as well as providing our audience with fashionable visuals to look at. As teenagers, many viewers will aspire to look like our artists, especially if she is a trend setter. From research, there are not many artists that have this style as a signature look.

These images inspired the look for our artists hair. We went for the wavy natural look as we thought that these reflected how the artist is more focused upon the lyrics than she is her hair. The lyrics are really strong and the artist needs to be very passionate about the themes that she is singing about: therefore we decided to have her hair natural to show how what she is singing about is clearly having an effect on her. The actress in our video has natural straight hair, however we thought that wavy hair would stand out more and this why we chose this style for our artist Faith.

This was the finished look for the first attempt of the makeup for our artist. It is clear that the look was primarily based upon the images beforehand. However, we altered the styles in order to make ours slightly different so that the look could be our own. This would make our artist slight unique. We used the dark lips and eyes from several images and then added a light shade of grey to the top of the eye-lid to make the look slightly less sharp and a bit softer. The overall look reflects our genre. I think that just by looking at the image to the left the audience would be able to tell what our genre is. This is a good look to use for the digi-pack as it would ensure that our images connect and flow with both our song and genre.

This was the final look of our hair for our first day of filming. We may decide to change up the look of the hair to show a change in time. This will show how the heartbreak theme within the song is an on going theme for all girls and how the emotions in the song do not go away quickly. Although, for the first day of filming we based the artist's hair on the images shown above due to the reasons given.

  1. WWW: you have shown brilliant research of hair and make up and what you want your artist to look like. You have developed this by doing her make -up and analysing it. Well done for including about how you can use the images in the future, it shows how you are preparing for future tasks.

EBI: you could of possibly including more images, maybe of make-up you think didn't look good or work as well as you hoped. The same with hair styles.
